POSCA PASTEL
SHADING
Depending on the shape of the tip, sharpened or worn, creating shading with the POSCA PASTEL is easy. The colours blend together and are added together, thanks to their semi-covering nature, creating soft transitions. Progressive pressure enables the colour to shade itself, from little to very saturated.
CONTRASTING
A high covering quality, the POSCA PASTEL enables the coverage of a dark surface. So you can play with the constrasts. The most extreme, the white easily covers the black, which makes the creative options limitless.
SCRATCHING
Since for the POSCA PASTEL the colours blend together between them but also with other techniques. Before or after, there are many possibilities. Like creating a pattern before using watercolours, this will be permanent, or for boosting gouache or acrylics.
SMOOTHING
A first colour can be pulled and mixed with a second, the POSCA PASTEL coming afterwards, being used as a mixer. So it’s possible to achieve a gentle transition from one colour to another. Also, white over a colour will brighten and mix it, giving a close aspect to the painting.
