A day with Zachary at CoolKicks.
When a Los Angeles sneaker store invites YouTuber ZHC to make a video, the latter doesn’t do things by halves. Zach, the artist, acts as a real artist, he invites customers to customize pairs, hosts raffles, teases the shy ones and wins shoes in a funfair machine where we usually try to catch a teddy bear with pliers. Finally, he himself delivers the few custos pairs finalized by him.
Zachary Hsieh is a 20 year old American with a passion for comic books and superheroes. But above all for drawing them with precision. When Zachary created his YouTube channel three years ago to present his work it was just for fun. He provides tutorials, shows off his techniques, carries out tests, etc., then suddenly it starts to take off and we’re watching a real showman.
For a year now he has been diversifying his drawings and surfaces, regularly exceeds a million views and with this video of custo sneakers he has clocked up 10 million views! Invited by CoolKicks, a trendy store in Melrose, ZHC grabbed a huge pack of Poscas, and set off for 10 hours of filming. The result is a syncopated clip, punctuated by drawing phases and plenty of humour. Hang in there, this is pulsating!
